Horizon Travel Nursing has an opening for the role of Travel ER Nurse (13 weeks) in Seattle, Washington. This is a contract role for experienced nurses.
You will see a new patient and a new problem on almost every shift, in a team that triages, treats and moves people safely.
About the role
In this role, you will triage and treat adults and children with urgent problems, from minor injuries to major trauma. You will work closely with doctors, paramedics and the rest of the hospital.
Key responsibilities
- Triage patients on arrival and reassess them while they wait
- Start IV lines, give medicines and monitor patients after treatment
- Respond to resuscitations and trauma calls as part of the team
- Keep patients and families informed during long or busy shifts
- Hand over clearly when patients are admitted or discharged
Requirements and qualifications
- An active nursing licence or registration for this country
- Current BLS and ACLS, or the local equivalent
- Emergency or acute care experience
- Good judgment when priorities change quickly
- Comfort working nights, weekends and rotating shifts
Nice to have
- TNCC, ENPC or a similar trauma course
- Pediatric emergency experience
- Triage training
